My Story

Lorraine Moller is a four-time Olympian, three-time world champion, and Olympic bronze medalist, with a remarkable career that includes victories in sixteen major international marathons, such as the Boston Marathon. Notably, she is the only woman to have competed in all the 20th-century Olympic marathons for women, showcasing her enduring commitment to the sport. Her 28-year career in distance running is distinguished by her innovative ‘inside-out process’ approach, which emphasized the mental and emotional aspects of training and competition.

After retiring in 1996, Lorraine co-founded the Lydiard Foundation, an organization dedicated to educating coaches and athletes on endurance training based on the principles of legendary coach Arthur Lydiard. Her passion for the sport and dedication to fostering the next generation of runners have left a lasting impact on the world of athletics. In 2008, she published her autobiography, “On the Wings of Mercury,” which chronicles her extraordinary journey and the philosophies that guided her throughout her career.
